The Ephesians had left their first love for God and, as a result, for each other. To restore their first love, Jesus gave them an assignment involving, in order, the mind, heart, soul, and strength.

It requires every part of us to love God the way He should be loved and it requires every part of us to return to that love from which we may have strayed.
